So, I’ve somehow discovered that it’s not Thanksgiving without Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. This started when two years ago, Cartoon Network had a marathon of episodes all day on Thanksgiving, so as my roommate and I attempted to make a small Thanksgiving dinner, we had this on in the background (to the excitement of my brother–well, for the first few hours).
So this year, when my brother returned, we were missing the show. Fortunately, Cartoon Network had a new movie on Thanksgiving night, which was actually quite entertaining. If they rerun it, I highly suggest you catch it.
But apparently we’re not the only ones who really thought Foster’s belonged with Thanksgiving festivities. In fact, the show had its own float on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Aaaand, what’s better than Foster’s? Rickrolling!
How awesome is it that they actually Rickrolled the Thanksgiving Day Parade?! I saw this on Thursday night, and I’m just now getting around to posting it, so you all have probably already found out about it, but I just find it hilarious. There’s some concern as to whether the kids would be disappointed that their Foster’s friends wouldn’t get to sing to them, but I personally think it was great. Great use of the Rickroll.
And Rick Astley.
Welcome back, Raked
In ABC Family, Craig Ferguson, David Letterman, Faith Hill, General Commentary, Harry Potter, Kristen Chenoweth, Merchandise, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Secret Life of the American Teenager on November 29, 2008 at 4:01 pmSo the Thanksgiving holiday is over, and sadly, my guest has left. But that does mean I can return to the blog I’ve been slacking on, so here goes.
On thing that was discovered while said guest was here was The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I’m not usually one to watch late night TV–not because I don’t like it, but I generally just don’t stay up long enough to watch the entire show. If I know someone I’m interested in is going to be interviewed, I’ll sometimes catch it, but beyond that, I’m pretty much tapping out my late night TV at The Daily Show,
But you know what? Craig Ferguson is crazy. I was really entertained. He has enough of that quirkiness and off-the-wall comments that it just becomes hilarious.
I happened to catch last night’s episode with Kristen Chenoweth, which was just as funny. She was there promoting her new Christmas CD. Now, I’m going to go completely off topic here (which is ok, it’s my blog), but what’s with Christmas CD promotions?
As I was switching over to Craig Ferguson, I happened to catch the tail end of Letterman, where Faith Hill was performing something off her Christmas CD. I’m all for holiday CDs, but I’m just wondering how people decide what to perform to get people to buy.
Personally, when it’s late (or late late), I want something upbeat to keep me awake, but both these women sang slower songs: Faith Hill, “The Little Drummer Boy” and Kristen Chenoweth, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” Both did good performances, but I can’t say they 100% sold me on CDs, you know? (I do think some people would like these, so check them out on Faith Hill and Kristen Chenoweth’s websites; they might be some great music for tree trimming.)
In other news about Christmas, ABC Family is on their countdown to the 25 Days of Christmas. Here’s what I’m not comprehending: What’s the difference between the 25 Days of Christmas and the countdown if they’re both playing Christmas movies (and non-Christmas movies, like Harry Potter)? It’s a little over the top, and it makes me a little annoyed at ABC Family for spouting the 25 Days of Christmas all over the place when in early November we had a full month before hitting the season.
So in honor of this, the holiday season on Raked will not start until December 1. Don’t count it down. It will come. None of us want to be ABC Family. After all, they air The Secret Life of an American Teenager.
