Hello, Friday Readers

In 30 Rock, About the Site, Fringe, Life on Mars, The Office on November 21, 2008 at 1:04 pm

You’ll find that my site today is rather sad. Not just because of the news of recent possible cancellations, but because I seem to have no new reviews up!

You got me. Alas, I went to the Celtics game last night and TiVoed all my favorite Thursday night shows, so I haven’t gotten around to watching them yet. Keep checking back throughout the weekend, and I’ll do my best to post them quickly.

Anyone got one that they want me to watch first? Let’s see, we’ve got 30 Rock, The Office, Life on Mars (I’m really behind on this one). I still need to catch up on Fringe, too…

Nothing should make you want to cry on a Friday

In ABC, Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, Life on Mars, Pushing Daisies, Scrubs, news on November 21, 2008 at 8:54 am

But this news might. Eli Stone might be canceled.

The key terms here are “might” and “canceled.” So here’s what I’ve drummed up.

ABC passed on giving Eli Stone a full season. That means, it will get 13 episodes. It did the same for Pushing Daisies (a cult favorite–there are uber emotions out there on this one) and Dirty Sexy Money. But here’s the difference.

Sources are officially saying Pushing Daisies is CANCELED. That means kaput. Daisies is dead, and not even Ned can bring it back with his magic touch.

On the other hand, all we know about Eli and Dirty Sexy Money is that it’s not getting a full season. Is that cancellation? That hasn’t been confirmed.

Dirty was not on the midseason schedule, if you recall. Eli was. Which means there might be a tiny Tinkerbell glimmer of hope that it might still continue on. I’m assuming more info might come out throughout the day.

So there’s good and bad. Some sources say ABC is avoiding the word “cancellation” so that there’s a chance Eli Stone could come back. Others say that they’ve told their actors to look for new jobs.

Here are links. That’s all I can really share. All I know, though, is that I never watched Pushing Daisies or Dirty Sexy Money. I won’t miss them, though I do think that Pushing Daisies was a highly original show.

As for Eli Stone, I’m heartbroken. Clearly heartbroken. They barely gave this show a chance, and I love it. So if you’re an Eli fan, try to get hold of ABC now before they make formal announcements. Maybe they can change their minds?

No More Eps for Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money…at least for now

ABC Caps Sophomore Trio at 13 Episodes

Oh, and in other news, ABC changed their schedule AGAIN. Scrubs is now for a full how at 9:00 on Wednesday. ABC is really ticking me off.

(On the bright side, Life on Mars got four more episodes. Sounds generous for the people who love the chopping block.)
